At 3 a.m. Sunday morning, our deputies, the East Central Task Force, the Wellsville Police Department and the Highway Patrol served a search warrant in Wellsville. One woman was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school. The investigation continues.

There is a fradulent group of telemarketers claiming to represent the Missouri Sheriffs’ Assocation calling people in the state  asking for dontaions. The Missouri Sheriffs’ Association has not, will not, and does not engage in telephone solicitation. Along the same lines I am sure there will be a rash of telemarketing scams purported to be collecting for the earthquake victims in Haiti. I would suggest if you want to help, call the Red Cross yourself.
